Economics plays a vital role in the development of the economy.

Teaching and Assessment
The teaching method in the department is a blend of theory and practice. ICT based teaching, lectures, case studies, presentations and field trips are given due importance.
The concepts taught are supplemented with their practical implications through eminent guest speakers from other universities and institutions. To ensure that the students are assimilating the knowledge being imparted to them, frequent tests, model examinations for duration of 3 hours and unit tests are conducted.
Oral presentations and written reports are conducted throughout the academic year.

Career Opportunities
Students of the department entered to a variety of fields such as lecturers, business and teachers.

Economics Club

Economics Club was inagurated with the motive to create an awarness for the students to know about the Economic Development of the Country and also to help the downtrodden students. They will be able to inculcate the people who are below the poverty line to uplift themselves and also to know about the importance of Education. This will help them to bring the Economy above the Poverty Line which is the Vision of India
